What We're Up To In ...

What We're Up To In ...
MATH: We have been working on 3 digit addition and subtraction within story problems. Please keep watching your kids to see if they are following the right steps! READING: We are working on learning about biographies and their characteristics along with Main Idea. We have also been reading many biographies as well. WRITING: We have done some short writing, lists, paragraphs and such in our writer's notebook. We also have begun reading personal narratives so that soon, we can begin our own. Talk with your child about a good story that has happened in his/her life that he/she could write about! HANDWRITING: We have learned about 5 cursive letters so far. We have also been working on NEAT printing in class. PLEASE EXPECT your child to print neatly at home as well! ART: We have been working on warm and cool colors incorporated into fall trees. WORD STUDY: We are studying the sounds hard and soft "c" and "g" make. Spelling lists can be found under the top tab on our blog! SOCIAL STUDIES: We are learning about immigration. If you have immigration stories about your family, please share them with your child or even our class! SCIENCE: Our kids get science once or twice a week this year with either Mrs. Miller or Mr. Christianson. They are working on characteristics of leaves and other scientific things!

About Me

My photo
Ms. Johnson
Hi, My name is Jill and I am excited to explore blogging with my class! I began blogging four years ago, but it's still a work in progress! I have been teaching for 24 years, and I can't imagine doing ANYTHING else! This is my 11th year teaching 3rd grade at CES. I have 3 children... My daughter Hailey is 24 and graduated from Northland last year as a Registered Nurse. She works in TRF. My son Logan is 22. He transferred to the University of Madison one year ago to enroll in their business school. He made it!! He is studying Supply Chain Management. My son Cole is in 10th grade and loves being a high schooler! He loves football, wrestling and track. We have a dog named Moose... well he really isn't OUR dog my daughter says! He is really hers, but he has become part of our family! Moose is 5 years old! I love to read, jog, bike, cheer my kids on in all of their sports and activities, spend time with my friends & family, camp, watch movies, and hang out at the lake or my pool in the summer time!
